Success! I went for a run today for the first time in probably a year. I did my two mile loop walking and running. It was a nice day and I just felt like going. :)

Morning Workouts

I work out so much better in the mornings!  The downside however is that I need to wake up earlier, which also means I have to go to bed earlier.  This is not really a bad thing, since I can still get up at 6:20AM and fit the 30 minute workout in, shower, eat breakfast, and get to work on time.  Although it’s a bit more of a rush and I need to pick out my outfit for the day the night before.  And I want to go to bed earlier, but I’m trying to get out of my old routine, so it’ll be a while.

I’ve been working on Jillian Michaels’ Ripped in 30 video and just started the Week 3 workout.  It was tough!  I am just waiting for the soreness to start.  I’ll probably go to bed early tonight though, that’s for sure!

In other exercise news, my boyfriend and I have really gotten into playing soccer in the yard.  We just kick the ball around and practice dribbling, etc.  It’s a lot of fun and a lot of cardio.

I bought my first set of weights last week in addition to Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD. It is split up into 4 thirty minute workouts. It is Michaels’ 3-2-1 system. Three minutes of strength, two minutes of cardio, and one minute of abs. You start with week 1 and after working out 5-6 days you move on to week 2. I started on Wednesday and let me tell you it is TOUGH! I don’t know what I was expecting, but I’m only using 3 pound weights and they are so heavy. I had to take a break for part of the final circuit today and this is only week 1. I’ll let you know how it is going near the end. Make it a great week!

Daily Exercise

I was doing really well on my 2011 goal to exercise daily, until Valentine’s Day.  So it’s been a little over three weeks with no exercise (unless walking all over the Disney parks counts).  I really want to get back to it, but I’ve been very busy and working late.  The motivation just hasn’t struck me, and since it’s 7:00 and I’m still at work I don’t think it’ll be starting again tonight.  Unless I do a brief 20 minute yoga routine at home.  Wish me luck!

P.S. I really want to post about going to Disney World, but after sitting in front of a computer all day at work, the last thing I want to do is go home and do the same.  So, I hope to get it done this weekend or next week.

Happy New Year!
I didn’t want to do a year review, but 2010 was a fun year. It wasn’t as groundbreaking for me as 2009 was, but I made two huge discoveries and had a great time along the way. I fully decided that I didn’t want to go back to school at this point in my life. I took a course last semester and while I loved thinking about science again, I did not like being in school again. I also finally realized my true friends and I am working on cutting out the rest, or as much as I can. I also took some really fun trips with my sweets. Oh and I fell even more in love with him.
I have a really good feeling about this year. 2011 is a prime number and I love those! I’ve made a few goals for next year mostly relating to my career life and personal growth. I’m extremely happy in my relationship and I can’t think of anything I’d want to change about it. I want to have a happy remedy for when days are not going well to cheer myself up.
The Goals for 2011
Complete Dale Carnegie Training completed 5/2/2011
Find a career in the sciences
Start a photography business completed 4/1/2011 (official launch) and 5/15/2011 (first gig)
Go to Disney World completed 2/15/2011
Read 12 books
Make daily exercise a habit
Travel to a new place completed 11/05 - 11/09/2011
Cry less completed by 2012
Cook a real dinner once a week completed by 2012
Make new friends
Get 7 hours of sleep every night completed by 2012
New year, new list!
